A career in the advertising industry is still one of the most exciting job prospects out there. Thanks to AAA School of Advertising and YFM, one lucky word magician has the chance to get a head start in this fast-paced and stimulating environment. It’s the AAA/YFM Copywriting Challenge.
The aim of this initiative is to educate our youth about the career options available in the world of advertising. It also gives participants the chance to win a highly coveted, two-year bursary to the AAA School of Advertising, valued at over R100 000.
The Copywriting Challenge is spread over 5 weeks and encourages matric pupils or those who have matriculated in the past two years, to enter. All entrants will be tasked with putting their creative writing talents to work in composing catchy, strategic and effective radio spots.
The prospective winners are required to write a 30-second radio ad about themselves to enter the competition. The top 10 finalists will be announced on YFM on the morning of October 1st and this group will be reduced to 5 a week later. There follows the third and final round, where the finalists will need to convince the panel of judges why they should be awarded the grand prize.
