Joburg has already been treated to some of the biggest visiting international music acts this year. In fact, it is bracing itself for even more superstars in the coming months. 2013 looks to be no different, as one of the biggest groups ever is set to rock Soccer City to its famous foundations early in the new year. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming.

Premier concert organisers Big Concerts has confirmed that the 29-year-old, multi-award-winning rock super group will be performing at the famous soccer complex on February 2nd 2013. The legendary quartet will be in South Africa for two shows- the second is in Cape Town on 5 February-, giving local fans the chance to experience their distinctive songwriting, heavy bass grooves and massive stage presence, first hand and on home turf.

The concerts are presented by 5fm and M-Net and include a fiery, local appetizer in the form of the opening act. In this regard, Anthony Kiedis and Co. will be supported by our very own zef rave duo, Die Antwoord, adding even more to what is already going to be an unforgettable night.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 29 August and prices range from R315 to R715.  We must point out that although Soccer City is big, it isn’t that big. You need to book now to reserve your place in the company of legends.
