It’s already been a great year for live music in Joburg, with so many big names coming to town and still more to come. This weekend, it’s time for lovers of the pop jazz sounds of David Sanborn (sax) and Joe Sample (piano) to get excited, as these two greats will be working their magic at Carnival City's Big Top Arena.
In their own right, each player has been able to carve highly respected and successful careers, performing with an enviable collection of artists and producing material that straddles the lines between jazz, pop, rock, folk and the blues.
With the most remarkable journeys, musical expertise and creative achievement between them, putting Sanborn and Sample together is a little like joining two atomic bombs- with the same result.
