Méchant & Gentil celebrates and stocks all things local, and seriously ‘lekker’, as is evidenced by the range of decedent and delicious goods sold in the intimate art-deco inspired boutique setting.
Johannesburg’s affluent shoppers will be delighted by the curated collection of South African designed and made lingerie,bespoke perfumes, chocolates and confectionery, which live up to the brand’s promise of “everything you don’t really need… but do really, really want, in one luxurious location”.
Méchant & Gentil has secured unique, bespoke collections from South Africa’s top lingerie designers, including Arwen Garmentry, South Africa’s only corsetiere; local lingerie style veteran, Ruby, up-and-coming Cape Town lingerie brand, Baie Nice and Dax Martin of SA Fashion Week fame.
In addition to the boutique’s core lingerie ranges, Méchant & Gentil also stocks a variety of other proudly South African gifting options, from local luxury brands including Frazer Parfum, Rose and Bos Fine Fragrances, Ooh La La Artisan Confectionery, Honest raw chocolate and Von Geusau chocolate.
Although Méchant & Gentil is unashamedly a luxury retailer with premium items, such as Arwen Garmentry hand-made corsets, retailing for upwards of R5 000, budget-conscious shoppers will also be pleasantly surprised to find cheeky Ruby velvet bow-tie knickers on the shop floor selling for just R200 a pair.
Méchant & Gentil is also available after-hours as a venue for private, tasteful ladies birthday and bachelorette parties.
